WINDWALL™

About the technology

WindWall™ fabrics are engineered to greatly reduce the effects of wind chill while providing the flexibility to stay comfortable.

Many wind-blocking garments have a high-wicking internal layer or include a wind-blocking membrane between moisture-transporting layers.

Reducing the effects of wind chill.

When wind penetrates through your insulation layer, your body temperature drops. WindWall creates a barrier to help retain your next-to-skin warmth.

Various levels of wind protection are measured in CFM (the number of cubic feet of air that can pass through a square foot of fabric in one minute). The lower the CFM, the lower the air permeability. If a product or fabric achieves a 0 CFM, it is windproof—helping to protect your body from the elements.

How to layer

WindWall is used as a wind-resistant technology within an outer layer, worn over insulation, fleece or baselayer. Softshell WindWall pants can also be worn directly on the skin or over a base.
