Complete the circle.
Our vision is to make the world a more sustainable place to explore. Inspired by cyclical patterns in nature, we’re working to keep the circle going by giving old gear new life.
Design for circularity.
More sustainable exploration starts with better designs. Every year in the United States, 66% of discarded textiles end up in landfills. We’re committed to doing our part to change this by flipping the status quo of how we make products and how you can dispose of them more responsibly.
What is Circular Design?
It’s gear that’s built to live on (and on, and on). Our strategic design process considers these four pillars around circularity when crafting our Circular Design products.

Source Better
Use more materials that are recycled, responsibly-sourced renewable and/or regeneratively grown to help reduce our use of finite resources.

Maintain Durability
Craft products that work to resist damage and wear. The most sustainable piece of gear is the one you don’t have to replace.

Minimize Waste
Generate as little waste as possible during production and put textile waste and leftover materials to use.

Champion Cyclability
Design products to be more easily broken down and made into new gear at the end of their usable lives.

The North Face Renewed Trade-in
Trade in your old The North Face gear by mail or in store and we’ll give you $10, $30 or $50 credit for each eligible item to use towards your next purchase.
We’ll refurbish your old favorites to be resold for a new life on the trails. If your items are well-worn and don’t qualify to be renewed, we’ll still take them and
recycle or donate them as part of our commitment to circularity. Credit amount depending on donated item’s original MSRP and type of item donated.
