About Women's Backpacks at The North Face
Wondering why we offer women-specific backpack styles of our classics like the Recon, Borealis, Surge, and Jester? The reason is so that you can find packs that better fit a woman's anatomy. Our women's packs feature a shorter torso height, narrower shoulder area, and a FlexVent™ suspension system that has been certified by the American Chiropractic Association.
In hiking packs, a women-specific style may include sternum straps and hip belts that are adjustable to better fit curves and distribute weight more efficiently.
The end result of these design differences should be less chafing, digging, and awkward shifting.
Of course, if you find that you prefer a unisex or men's style, choose what you find fits best. At the end of the day, comfort and fit are most important whether you find yourself on the trail, on campus, or on your way to work.
While our women's backpacks may be designed slightly differently than our men's, they do not compromise on features. You'll still find all of the same organization, durability, and versatility that you've come to expect from all of The North Face backpacks. Our Women's Borealis, for example, has the large main compartment perfect for books and binders as well as a fleece-lined pocket for your phone or keys. There are also two water bottle pockets, making this a great school backpack.
Our Women's Jester includes a padded laptop sleeve as well as two water bottle pockets and organization for things like a tablet. It also is an excellent school or college backpack and can easily carry essentials to and from work. Be sure to check out the Luxe edition that features premium metallic logo and zipper pulls.
Think about how you are going to use a backpack. Will it be primarily for school or travel? Do you want something that can take you from campus to the trail? Do you need something small as an everyday alternative to a purse?
Pay attention to size and match the backpack size to how you plan to use it.
